Job summary

ACCO Engineered Systems is seeking a Project Engineer to collaborate closely with a dedicated Project Manager and report to the Sales Manager. You will oversee the technical coordination of assigned projects, ensuring clear communication across disciplines including clients, architects, and vendors, while supporting estimating, scheduling, and BIM-driven design within our design-build process.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Progression from Project Engineer I to II/III or Senior based on performance and leadership.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Experience with business systems software (JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, Smartsheet, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Draft and manage critical project documentation (proposals, letters, memos, subcontracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, shop drawings).
• Organize internal and external project meetings including kickoffs, BIM coordination, scheduling reviews.
• Perform material takeoffs, solicit quotes, compile bid estimates, assemble change order packages.
• Interpret plans and specs to monitor progress, enforce quality, and resolve installation challenges.
• Execute vendor/subcontractor buyouts and oversee procurement tracking.
• Track installations, forecast labor, review invoices, and develop client billings.
• Lead job closeouts including O&M, commissioning docs, as-builts, warranty processing.
• Report budget/timeline impacts with Project Management and escalate issues early.
• Provide technical support using standard engineering tools and conduct value engineering.
• Build relationships with customers, prime contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
