Job summary

24 Seven Talent is seeking an experienced Design Build Manager to lead the technical design and engineering function for experiential environments, retail displays, exhibitions, branded activations, and interactive installations.

This role combines team leadership, creative problem-solving, and hands-on technical oversight to ensure concepts are transformed into practical, high-quality, fabrication-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in design engineering, industrial design, architecture, fabrication, product development, experiential design, or a related discipline.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineers, designers, or other technical professionals.
• Advanced ability in 3D modeling, CAD, technical design, and production-ready documentation.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, assemblies, tolerances, manufacturing methods, transportation, and installation.
• Experience producing or overseeing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, technical details, and specifications.
• Ability to balance creative ambition with practical production requirements, schedule constraints, and budget considerations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively across creative, technical, and production teams.
• A hands-on approach and willingness to engage directly with prototypes, fabrication partners, shop environments, and installations

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of design engineers, setting priorities, reviewing work, and helping team members grow their technical capabilities.
• Translate creative concepts into detailed designs, 3D models, assemblies, drawings, specifications, and documentation suitable for fabrication and installation.
• Provide technical direction throughout the project lifecycle, from early design studies and prototypes through production, delivery, and installation.
• Evaluate materials, construction methods, tolerances, fastening, finishes, transport requirements, and installation conditions to ensure designs can be built efficiently and safely.
• Review models, drawings, and technical packages for accuracy, completeness, manufacturability, and adherence to project requirements.
• Work closely with design, project management, fabrication, production, engineering, and creative technology teams to solve technical challenges and maintain alignment.
• Partner with fabricators and outside specialists to resolve production issues, refine designs, and identify risks before work reaches the shop floor or job site.
• Support prototype development, fabrication reviews, shop visits, site visits, and installations as needed.
• Manage competing project priorities, timelines, team capacity, and technical risks across multiple projects.
• Develop and improve engineering workflows, documentation standards, quality-control practices, templates, and shared technical resources.
• Explore new materials, tools, fabrication methods, and technologies that can strengthen design and production capabilities.
