Job summary

Goodwyn Mills Cawood is seeking a Design Associate I to support ongoing projects in our Augusta, GA office. The designer will assist project managers, produce construction documents, and coordinate with consultants and AHJs to drive projects forward.

The role requires strong organization, communication, and the ability to work within a design system while meeting deadlines on multiple projects at once.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent from an accredited college preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years of technical and construction document production experience – retail experience preferred.
• Understanding of building codes, construction methods, building systems, and engineering systems.
• Working knowledge of architectural product systems and A&E work standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Adobe Products/Bluebeam.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is a plus.
• Experience with architecture, engineering or construction drawings.
• Ability to think in a 3D environment.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices located throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.

GMC has an opening for a Design Associate to support on-going projects in ourAugusta, GAoffice. The Designer will be involved in all stages of design and construction and will assist project managers in producing documents and managing the projects. Applicant should be well organized and able to work within a design system, demonstrate ability to solve problems, a good communicator willing and able to network with outside consultants and AHJs to assist in driving the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs Advanced knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD
• Proficiency in Adobe Products/Bluebeam

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is a plus
• Experience with architecture, engineering or construction drawings
