Full-Time | The Salt + Light Home Flagship

The Design Associate supports the Salt + Light Home design experience by assisting with Designer Day Pass consultations, design development, furniture selection, and client execution support. This role is both creative and client-facing, focused on translating client needs into thoughtful design concepts through moodboards, mockups, curated design boards, and accurately prepared furniture selections.

This role also includes participation in design and styling installations, coordination support through checkout and delivery, and ongoing client care to encourage long-term relationships and repeat business. Additionally, the Design Associate will assist in building and maintaining systems that support the Designer Day Pass program, including CRM workflows and SOP documentation.

The Design Associate will assist on the showroom floor as needed and as available to support guest experience and operational coverage.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Design & Client Support

• Supporting the Designer Day Pass consultations and paid design engagements.
• Translating client conversations into clear design direction and concepts.
• Creating moodboards, mockups, and design boards for client spaces.

Furniture Selection, Quotes & Checkout Support

• Assisting in the selection of furniture, lighting, rugs, and décor aligned with client vision, budget, and timelines.
• Creating furniture quotes and carting product selections for clients in coordination with the Sales team.
• Supporting clients through checkout, ensuring selections are confirmed accurately and clearly.
• Ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, product specifications, availability, and lead times.
• Conducting design presentations, showroom walkthrough.

Design Board Presentation & Product Knowledge

• Present mood boards and design boards confidently, clearly explaining the design vision, layout, product selections, and overall story behind each space.
• Guide clients through furniture selections by educating them on materials, craftsmanship, construction, customization options, performance fabrics, lead times, warranties, and care instructions.
• Build client confidence by recommending complete design solutions that align with their lifestyle, budget, and project goals.
• Stay knowledgeable on all Salt + Light Home collections, vendors, new arrivals, seasonal launches, and product features.
• Continuously develop product expertise to confidently answer client questions and overcome objections in a professional, consultative manner.

Delivery, Install & Scheduling Coordination (Support Role)

• Coordinating with Sales, Fulfillment, and Operations teams to support delivery and installation scheduling.
• Communicating timelines and expectations to clients clearly and professionally.
• Attending design and styling installs as needed to support layout, styling, and final presentation.
• Ensuring installed spaces align with the approved design intent.

Design & Styling Installations

• Attending design installs and styling installs for client projects and brand initiatives.
• Supporting styling and final detailing of spaces to ensure they are content-worthy and photography-ready.
• Assisting with preparation for styled shoots and documentation for marketing and brand storytelling.

Designer Day Pass Systems & Operations

• Assisting in the creation and maintenance of a Designer Day Pass CRM, including client tracking, notes, and follow-ups.
• Supporting the development and documentation of Designer Day Pass workflows and SOPs within Asana.
• Helping improve consistency, efficiency, and clarity across the Designer Day Pass process.

Client Relationship & After-Care

• Providing post-install and post-purchase client follow-up, including check-ins and care communication.
• Supporting ongoing client relationships to encourage repeat business, referrals, and long-term engagement.
• Maintaining accurate client records and touchpoints within the CRM.

Collaboration & Showroom Support

• Collaborating with Sales, Design, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Preparing and organizing design materials, consultation documentation, quotes, and handoffs.
• Assisting on the showroom floor during peak hours or coverage needs, while maintaining design priorities.

Brand Stewardship

• Upholding Salt + Light Home’s design standards, brand integrity, and client experience expectations.
• Representing the brand with professionalism, warmth, and care in all client and team interactions.
