Job summary

Hinduja Tech Limited in Michigan is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and release structural frame components for automotive programs. You will work with NX and Teamcenter, perform DFSS projects, and ensure on-time delivery from concept to vehicle launch.

The role requires 2 years in a product release environment, a BS in ME or EE, strong communication, leadership, and knowledge of GD&T and weld parameters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 2 years of engineering experience in a product release environment.
  • Experience with frame or chassis structural components.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and weld parameters.
  • 1+ year of frame or structural chassis component engineering experience.
  • DFSS Green or Black Belt preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system design, development, and engineering release of structural frame components and assemblies.
  • Execute work plans to achieve component- and system-level functional objectives.
  • Ensure on-time delivery from initial concept through vehicle launch.
  • Monitor project progress using KPIs and efficiency metrics.
  • Perform component design and FMEA activities.
  • Conduct engineering analysis using CAE tools.
  • Develop and manage vehicle packaging using NX.
  • Ensure model and drawing integrity using Teamcenter.
  • Develop and maintain Product Assurance Plans (PAP).
  • Develop and maintain engineering bills of materials (EBOM/CODEP).
  • Provide engineering support during vehicle and component builds.
  • Support fastened joint design and assembly torque development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups (NVH, Vehicle Integration, Stress Lab, Safety, Durability) for validation and testing.

Job description

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2 years of engineering experience in a product release environment.
  • Intermediate-level design/development engineering experience with frame or chassis structural components.
  • Self-starter with strong leadership and communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of high-strength steels, weld parameters, and GD&T.
  • 1+ year of frame or structural chassis component engineering experience.
  • Experience with UG NX and Teamcenter.
  • DFSS Green or Black Belt.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Computer proficiency, including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and database applications.
