Job summary

Energy Project Solutions (EPS) seeks a field‑based Authorized Desert Tortoise Biologist for our Las Vegas, NV office. This full‑time role emphasizes wildlife surveys, environmental compliance, and technical reporting across energy and infrastructure projects in the Southwest.

You will conduct and manage field investigations, work with USFWS guidelines, and prepare professional reports tailored for clients and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a closely related field.
• Previously approved U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Desert Tortoise Authorized Biologist with documentation of prior authorizations.
• Minimum of 2 years of dedicated field experience in the desert Southwest.
• Strong communicator able to work with construction crews, clients, and agencies under pressure.
• Comfortable working independently in remote field conditions and long field days.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and manage field investigations related to wildlife, botanical resources, waters of the United States, wetlands, and other biological resources.
• Serve as a Desert Tortoise Authorized Biologist on construction and pre-construction projects, including clearance surveys, translocation, and on-site monitoring per USFWS.
• Perform nesting bird surveys, habitat assessments, and other species-specific surveys as project needs arise.
• Analyze environmental data and compile professional technical reports with data assessment and original analysis.
• Prepare summaries and reports on field investigations for clients and regulatory agencies.
• Interface with clients, contractors, crews, and regulators professionally to ensure project objectives and compliance.
• Prioritize tasks and work autonomously in office and remote field settings.
