Job summary

Spheros Environmental Group is seeking a Temp Designated Field Biologist/Field Lead to coordinate field activities near Las Vegas, NV, directing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and communicating with clients and EPC teams in real time.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5+ years of field experience, and supervisory capability. Desert ecosystem knowledge and ArcGIS data collection skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimally bachelor’s degree in biology, botany, ecology, environmental science or related field.
• 5+ years of related field experience with wildlife, plants, ecology.
• Experience with compliance monitoring.
• Familiarity with Mojave and Sonoran Desert ecosystems preferred.
• At least 2 years of supervisory/field lead experience.
• Familiarity with digital field data collection (ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123).
• Adept at Microsoft 365 programs (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Manage field staff and assign daily tasks (monitoring, site checks, surveys).
• Serve as primary field contact for client/EPC; communicate updates and changes.
• Ensure safety of staff; rotate breaks and enforce safety protocols.
• Train and mentor new staff; provide performance feedback to leadership.
• Lead daily worksite meetings and conduct safety checks.
• Coordinate with client and regulatory agencies on site activities.
• Complete weekly compliance monitoring reports and data sheets.

Bachelor’s degree in biology, botany, ecology, environmental science or related field
