Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Assistant (Facility Services). This role performs custodial, janitorial, and light maintenance tasks across desert facilities to ensure continuous operational readiness.

It requires flexibility to travel between home facilities in Desert Center and Parker Dam and to support multiple sites within the California Desert Region, with a part-time 3/10 work schedule mandated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel up to 250 miles daily and rotate across multiple locations.
• Part-time 3/10 schedule availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial, janitorial, and light maintenance across pumping plants and regional offices.
• Support desert operations by maintaining facility readiness and hygiene standards.
• Assist with ground maintenance and operation of light equipment.
• Travel frequently to multiple facilities to ensure service continuity.
