Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Ambulatory Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care within the RN scope, following assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across patients aged 0–150, including skin care cases. This role emphasizes documentation, education, and coordination of care within the dermatology context and supports advancing staff development.

The ideal candidate holds an Illinois RN license, BLS within 30 days, and a nursing degree.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in Illinois (IDFPR).
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• College Diploma in Nursing is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families.
• Ensures adherence to standards of care and scope of practice.
• Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
• Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
• Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students.
• Provides leadership for quality improvement initiatives.
• Assists with development of departmental standing orders.
• Explains procedures and provides patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality.
• Performs advanced nursing activities and assists with procedures.
• Coordinates care for patients aged 0-150 with skin care issues.
• Provides in-office education for newly diagnosed skin conditions/medications.
• Obtains prior authorization for dermatology medications and works with specialty pharmacies.
• Administers ID/SubQ/IM medications.
• Performs telephone triage for acute/chronic patients aged 0-150.
• Assists with in-office procedures such as skin biopsies.
