Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a Dermatology Principal Investigator (Contract/1099) to lead dermatology trials at our research-enabled sites, with travel to North Hollywood, CA and La Habra, CA as needed.

The role requires board-certified dermatology expertise, PI experience on randomized trials, and an active medical license. You will oversee teams, mentor staff, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance across Phase I–IV studies.

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Dermatology with at least 2 years of clinical experience.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical trial experience, including PI on at least 2 randomized, double-blind therapeutic studies.
• Active medical license in the state of the research site with no history of suspension or debarment.
• Ability to lead clinical teams and foster positive relationships with sponsors.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical trials focused on dermatology (Phase I-IV), ensuring adherence to FDA regulations and GCP guidelines.
• Conduct patient assessments, physical exams, and other protocol-specific tasks for clinical trial participants.
• Oversee sub-investigators and research staff during clinical trial activities.
• Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to study teams, ensuring the quality, safety, and success of all trials.
• Evaluate patient eligibility and assist in reviewing study feasibility and protocol assessments.
• Attend site initiation visits and sponsor monitoring visits.
• Communicate study details and treatment goals to patients while maintaining strong rapport with participants and sponsors.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, and Patient Engagement teams.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Board-Certified Dermatologist to join our clinical research program as a Principal Investigator (PI). The Dermatology PI will play a key role in advancing clinical research, conducting clinical trials at Carbon Health's research-enabled sites, and supporting our mission to deliver equitable, data-driven advancements in dermatologic care.

Home Clinic will be North Hollywood, CA but should also be able to travel to La Habra, CA.

• Proven ability to lead clinical teams, foster positive relationships with sponsors, and deliver high-quality results.
• Proximity to a research clinic with the flexibility to be onsite regularly.
