Job summary

Philadelphia Center for Dermatology seeks a part-time Physician Assistant with dermatology or outpatient surgical experience to join a patient-focused private practice. The role emphasizes autonomy, collaboration with physicians, and meticulous charting in a clinic setting.

The PA will conduct dermatologic exams, develop treatment plans, perform office procedures, manage medications, and coordinate referrals while maintaining high patient-safety standards.

Qualifications

• Dermatology or outpatient surgical experience.
• Strong clinical judgment and patient education.
• Experience with medical documentation, coding, and billing compliance.
• Working knowledge of EHR/EMR systems.
• Familiarity with prior-authorization and prescription workflows.
• Commitment to HIPAA compliance, patient safety, and quality improvement.
• Professional appearance, integrity, reliability, and ability to work with physicians and staff.
• Organized and self-directed; able to manage a steady patient schedule with meticulous charting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive dermatologic examinations.
• Formulate differential diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
• Perform office-based procedures: cryotherapy, shave/punch biopsies, injections, excisions, wound care, and suturing.
• Assist the dermatologist in surgical cases and complex procedures.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and pathology reports; communicate results promptly to patients.
• Prescribe medications and manage refills, including biologics and topical therapies.
• Provide pre- and post-operative counseling and written instructions.
• Document encounters accurately and timely in the EHR with coding/billing precision.
• Coordinate referrals and communicate findings with primary care physicians or other specialists.
• Participate in inventory management of clinical supplies and medications.
• Contribute to quality-assurance projects and staff meetings.
• Foster a welcoming, compassionate environment that supports patient satisfaction and continuity of care.
