Protouch Staffing seeks a Dermatology NP or PA for our rural dermatology practice in North Carolina. The role focuses on comprehensive skin care, patient education, and evidence-based management in underserved communities.

You will diagnose, treat, and perform dermatology procedures with supervision, emphasizing access to care. The position requires a Master’s degree, NC license, national certification, and at least 1 year of dermatology experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current North Carolina NP or PA license.
• National certification (AANP/ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA).
• Minimum 1 year of dermatology experience.
• Strong diagnostic reasoning and procedural skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluations with full-body skin examinations.
• Diagnose and manage common dermatologic conditions (acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, fungal infections, rashes).
• Identify and treat precancerous and cancerous lesions (AK, BCC, SCC, melanoma).
• Perform dermatology procedures including shave, punch, and excisional biopsies; cryotherapy; lesion removal; wound care.
• Order, review, and interpret dermatopathology tests and other diagnostics.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with licensure and guidelines.
• Provide patient education on skin health and disease prevention; maintain EMR documentation.
• Uphold HIPAA and regulatory standards.
• Participate in dermatology-focused continuing education.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in medical dermatology to join our growing rural health dermatology practice. This role is ideal for a provider who values meaningful patient relationships, continuity of care, and improving access to dermatologic services in underserved communities.

The provider will diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of medically necessary skin conditions while working collaboratively with supervising physicians. This position focuses exclusively on clinical dermatology, emphasizing evidence ‑ based care, patient education, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluations, including detailed histories and full ‑ body skin examinations.
• Diagnose and manage common and chronic dermatologic conditions (acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, fungal infections, rashes, etc.).
• Identify and treat precancerous and cancerous lesions (AK, BCC, SCC, melanoma) within scope of practice.

Perform Medical Dermatology Procedures Including

• Shave, punch, and excisional biopsies
• Cryotherapy
• Lesion removal
• Wound care and post-procedure management
• Order, review, and interpret dermatopathology and diagnostic tests.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with licensure and clinical guidelines.
• Provide patient-centered education on skin health, disease prevention, and treatment expectations. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR.
• Uphold all regulatory, clinical, and HIPAA standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and dermatology ‑ specific continuing education.
