Job summary

The MedServ Group is seeking a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to join our team on a part-time basis in New Jersey. You will provide dermatology care to residents in Skilled Nursing Facilities, performing exams, assessments, and treatments with a focus on quality elderly care.

Schedule typically 9AM-5PM with 7-8 hours visiting patients per day and 20-25 patients per visit. The MedServ Group covers malpractice insurance.

Qualifications

• Licensed NP with Dermatology specialization or physician-level credential.
• Experience diagnosing and treating dermatologic conditions in elderly patients.
• Ability to order and interpret basic diagnostic tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical exams and patient observations.
• Record medical histories and symptoms.
• Create and contribute to patient care plans.
• Order, administer, and analyze diagnostic tests.
• Monitor equipment and communicate results to physicians.
• Diagnose health issues and relay findings to on-call physician.
• Administer medicines and treatments.

Compensation: $35.00 – $40.00 per patient or $60.00 - $65.00 per hour

Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities

• Performing physical exams and patient observations.
• Recording patients' medical histories and symptoms.
• Creating patient care plans and contributing to existing ones.
• Ordering, administering, and analyzing diagnostic tests.
• Monitoring and operating medical equipment, as needed.
• Diagnosing health issues and sharing it with the physician on call.
• Administering medicine and other treatments.

Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Requirements

• CNP/Certified Nurse Practitioner License
• Graduate of a state registered Nurse Practitioner Program OR is certified as a Nurse Practitioner by a National Association.
• Dermatologist experience in a clinic, hospital, or nursing home.
• Either a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Nurse Practitioner (N.P.) specializing in Dermatology from an approved university.
• Experience using diagnostic techniques to identify diseases and implement appropriate treatments.
• Experience managing a diverse staff and client-base is essential.
• Ability to communicate important health information effectively and compassionately.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with the elderly.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• DEA required.

General Information

• Compensation: $35.00 – $40.00 per patient or $60.00 - $65.00 per hour.
• 7-8 hours visiting patients plus paperwork.
• Schedule: typically, 9AM – 5PM.
• 20-25 patients per visit.
• The MedServ Group covers your medical malpractice insurance.
