Job summary

Schweiger Dermatology Group in Norwalk, CT is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant for our Norwalk Office. The Medical Assistant will support physicians in dermatology procedures, manage clinical and clerical tasks, and help ensure a smooth patient flow.

Candidates should have dermatology or healthcare experience, be comfortable with EMR systems, and possess strong communication and organizational skills. Weekend availability is a plus and medical assisting certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Dermatology experience required.
• Healthcare experience required.
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
• Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent patient relation and customer services skills.
• Open availability to work during weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in medical, cosmetic and laser procedures.
• Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and procedures within established guidelines.
• Prepare rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure proper functioning.
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed.
• Daily scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert Head MA and/or GM of any low level supplies.
• Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities.
