Job summary

Jefferson University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to assist physicians in assessing, examining and treating patients, manage patient flow, and perform diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and vitals. The role acts as a liaison to physicians to ensure patient satisfaction, maintains and orders supplies, and adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

Requirements include a HS diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification within 6 months of hire,

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire may be required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and verify proper identification.
• Perform and document vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
• Assist physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures including EKG and venipuncture/injections.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Order clinical supplies to maintain inventory and support smooth operations.
