Advanced Dermatology PC on West 86th Street in New York seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to provide administrative and clinical support, ensuring quality patient care and efficient office operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, CMA/RMA certification preferred, 1+ year of dermatology experience, strong medical terminology knowledge, and excellent customer service and confidentiality practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Medical assistant certification (CMA / RMA) preferred.
• 1+ year of experience as a medical assistant; dermatology experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Friendly and compassionate disposition with strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to maintain organized patient flow.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient and reviewing medical history.
• Assists during examinations; prepares specimens; performs basic laboratory tests on site; disposes of contaminated supplies; sterilizes instruments; authorizes drug refills; calls in prescriptions.
• Enters vital statistics and information into the Electronic Health Record (EMA).
• Updates and files medical records and insurance reports.
• Assists during medical examinations as allowable by law.
• Performs general office duties (answering phones, dictation, insurance forms).
• Schedules follow-up appointments as directed by the provider.
• Completes daily reporting and recordkeeping entries; returns patient calls by day end.
• Other duties as assigned.
