Job summary

ProDerm Skin & Surgery in North Austin, Texas seeks a Medical Assistant (Full or Part Time) with dermatology experience to support physicians in a fast-paced clinic. The MA will handle patient care, documentation, and coordination of labs, imaging, and procedures.

Strong EMR proficiency and familiarity with dermatology workflows are preferred. The role emphasizes patient communication, front-desk collaboration, and adherence to safety and privacy protocols.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required.
• Comfortable with Macintosh operating system and iPads.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; CMA or RMA credentials preferred.
• Prior MA experience in dermatology, plastic surgery, or ophthalmology is a plus.
• Mod Med EMA EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with medical questions and needs.
• Gathers and documents patient information and coordinates with providers.
• Assists with initial prescription processes, including prior authorizations and specialty medications.
• Schedules and coordinates labs, imaging, and procedures as requested by providers.
• Charts patient interactions in the EMR and communicates with team via portal/phone.
