Job summary

U.S. Dermatology Partners is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a full-time, patient-centered dermatology practice in Virginia. You will support providers in exams, procedures, minor surgery, patient care, and clinical operations, delivering exceptional outcomes.

The role combines hands-on patient care with procedural support and clinical coordination, requiring professionalism, confidence, and strong clinical ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during exams, sterile field set-up, procedures, and surgical cases.
• Prepares/administers medications and injections per policy (5 Rights, expiry verification) and may process refill requests under provider direction.
• Prepare patients for treatment, including histories and consent documentation.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, injections, and suture removals.
• Prepare and stock exams rooms.
• Perform specimen handling and collection.
• Accurately document care, medications, test results, and procedures.
• Coordinate appointments, referrals, and testing.
• Maintain medical equipment and supplies; responds to in-clinic emergencies per protocol and documents per policy
• Uphold HIPAA, safety standards, and quality care protocols
• Performs proper infection control and biohazard waste disposal; supports CLIA-waived testing procedures as trained.
