Job summary

The Department of Dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX invites applications for an Instructor - Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient dermatology care, including cosmetics, laser, general dermatology, and Mohs surgery support under physician supervision.

The successful candidate will conduct histories, exams, diagnose conditions, order tests, prescribe treatments, educate patients, and participate in procedures and occasional operating room activities,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
• 2+ years of experience.
• Current Texas Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN-NP) or Texas Physician Assistant License and specialty certification as required by department: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtain detailed histories and perform physical examinations.
• Diagnose, work up, and manage a wide spectrum of dermatologic conditions.
• Prescribe and adjust medications; order and interpret relevant tests.
• Maintain records in the EPIC electronic medical record system and ensure clinic information is current.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians and clinic staff to coordinate patient care.
• Provide follow-up care, patient education, and support per protocol.
• Perform office procedures and assist in Mohs surgery as directed by the supervising physician.
• Maintain credentialing and ensure licensure requirements are up to date.
• Meet productivity standards and participate in continuing medical education.
