Job summary

Vernon Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Dermatologist to provide expert clinical dermatology services within a rural health setting. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to expand dermatology services across Vernon County and the Driftless Region.

The ideal candidate will hold an MD or DO, complete an accredited dermatology residency, and have or obtain Wisconsin licensure, with board certification or eligibility. Strong communication and collaboration with care teams are essential.

As a Critical Access Hospital with a network of Rural Health Clinics and specialty services, Vernon Health offers an opportunity to practice patient-centered dermatology in a supportive rural healthcare setting.

Dermatologist Position Overview: As a Dermatologist at Vernon Health, you will provide expert clinical oversight and support for dermatology services in a rural health organization. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a modern medical office building clinic setting while helping advance Vernon Health’s mission of delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and expanding dermatology services focused on meeting the skin health needs of patients and communities throughout Viroqua, Vernon County, and the Driftless Region.

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of dermatologic conditions, including skin disorders, rashes, acne, eczema, psoriasis, lesions, and other skin health concerns.
• Perform dermatology evaluations, skin exams, biopsies, minor dermatologic procedures, and appropriate diagnostic testing to determine the best course of care.
• Provide dermatology consultation for patients as needed, including referrals and coordination with specialty services when appropriate.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, nursing services, and specialty care teams to support comprehensive dermatologic care.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with Vernon Health standards.
• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution and completion of an accredited Dermatology residency program.
• Board certification or eligibility in Dermatology.
• Valid Wisconsin medical license (or ability to obtain).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
