Job summary

The Chautauqua Center (TCC Health) seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Dermatologist to diagnose, treat, and manage skin diseases. The physician will perform skin examinations, manage pigmented lesions, and provide patient education on sun safety and cancer screening.

Strong surgical and biopsy skills are required, with a focus on high-quality patient care. Applicants should have an MD or equivalent and at least 3 years of dermatology experience.

Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent medical degree.
  • Board certification in dermatology preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of dermatology experience.
  • Experience performing skin cancer procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough skin examinations and document patients' health histories.

Position Summary

T he Dermato l ogist wi l l diagnose, t reat , and h e l p prevent diseases or other condi t ion s o f the s kin .

Essential Functions/Responsibilities of the Position
  • Conducts thorough skin examinations and records patients' health histories. Diagnoses and treats pigmented lesions such as common acquired nevi, congenital nevi, dysplastic nevi, Spitz nevi, blue nevi, melanoma and skin conditions such as acne , dandruff, at hlete 's foot, moles, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
  • Counsels patients on topics such as the need for annual dermatolog ic screenings, sun protection, skin cancer awareness, or skin and lymph node self-examinations.
  • Perform s incisional biop sies to diagno se melanoma and skin s urger ies to improve appearance, make early diagnoses, or to control di seases s uch as skin
  • Prescribes hormonal agents or topi ca l treatments such as contraceptives, spironolactone, anti-androgens, oral corticos teroid s, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, and antibiotics . Provides therapies such as intr alesional steroids, chemica l peels, and comodo remo va l to treat age spo ts, sun damage, rough skin, d i scolored skin, or o i ly
  • Recommends diagnostic test s based on patients' histories and physical examination find i ng Evaluates patients to determine eligibility for cosmetic procedures such as liposuction, laser resurfacing, and microdermabrasion, and performs procedures as required.
  • Reads current literature, ta lk s with co ll eagues, and participates i n professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in dermatology.
