Job summary

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to join our frontline team in North Carolina. You will patrol communities, respond to calls, make arrests, and work with a disciplined, mission‑driven team.

A valid NC driver’s license, US citizenship, and BLET certification are required, along with a high school diploma or GED. Successful candidates will complete FTO training and may earn a $2,500 sign-on bonus after reaching the first milestone.

Qualifications

• BLET certification required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be a US citizen and at least 20 years old.
• Must pass comprehensive background checks and physical tests.

Responsibilities

• Patrol County on vehicle, motorcycle, or bike.
• Prevent, detect, and investigate disturbances and crimes.
• Serve civil and criminal papers.
• Respond to calls; arrest suspects.
• Transport detainees to detention centers and facilities.
• Engage in community policing and assist other agencies.
