Job summary

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office is seeking Deputy Sheriff candidates to build an Eligibility Roster for future vacancies within Olmsted County, MN. The roster remains valid for one year as dates are set by the Civil Service Commission.

Applicants must meet Minnesota POST license requirements or be approved to take relevant exams, be a U.S. citizen, and hold a valid driver’s license. Background checks and medical screenings will follow qualification steps.

Qualifications

• Active Minnesota POST license or approval to take POST exams.
• Must be U.S. citizen or eligible for appointment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Enforces state and local laws within Olmsted County.
• Interviews suspects and witnesses and documents statements.
• Responds to emergencies and operates in a law enforcement role.
