Job summary

National Police is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to perform general police duties, patrol roads, investigate incidents, and enforce laws. The role requires independent judgment in emergencies and carries an element of danger.

Responsibilities include responding to calls, assisting with search and rescue, preparing reports, and transporting individuals in custody to court or other locations. US citizenship and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Citizen of the United States.
• Age at least 21 years on hire.
• Must possess a valid, non-probationary driver's license.
• Must not have felony convictions.

Responsibilities

• Patrol roads and highways in marked patrol squads.
• Respond to and investigate calls for service, reports of crime, and traffic accidents.
• Assist in providing search and rescue operations.
• Ensure public safety through enforcement of federal, state, and local laws.
• Transport persons in custody to and from court and other locations.
• Serve or deliver warrants and other court-related paperwork.
• Subdue, control, and detain aggressive individuals in confrontations.
• Prepare accurate and concise reports.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate Degree (or 60 college-level credits)

LESB certification or equivalent credential
