Job summary

Charleston County Sheriff's Office is seeking motivated individuals to join as Deputy Sheriffs. No prior experience is required; training will be provided. Veterans may access VA GI Bill benefits.

The role offers opportunities across patrol and specialized units such as K-9, Marine Patrol, and Forensics. Foundation requirements include U.S. citizenship, minimum age 21, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen, 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Have a valid South Carolina driver’s license or be able to obtain one.
• Never convicted of a felony or crime of moral turpitude.
• Have not defaulted on a government or student loan.

Responsibilities

• Serve in patrol duties and be eligible to transfer to specialized units (e.g., K-9, Marine Patrol, Forensics).
• Contribute to community safety and support the department’s mission to protect residents of Charleston County.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $54,475 - $63,606 (Estimated Annual Salary)
