Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to support day-to-day management of the Business Process Improvement Program in Washington, DC, with engagements across multiple initiatives. The role requires coordinating Agile workstreams, schedules, staffing, and risk management, and will involve stakeholder engagement and reporting.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in a related field, 7+ IT years, 5+ PM years, experience with Agile and tools Jira/MS Project/Smartsheet, plus US citizenship

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum seven years of IT experience.
  • Five years of project management experience.
  • Experience supporting business process improvement or modernization projects.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management best practices.
  • Experience using Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be US citizen.
  • Work from client office in Washington, DC and Guidehouse office in Tyson's Corner, VA.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day management of the Business Process Improvement Program and Agile workstreams.
  • Serve as the Project Manager's alternate to ensure delivery across initiatives.
  • Manage schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource assignments.
  • Maintain project plans, RAID logs, staffing plans, and action trackers.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and sprint planning sessions.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement across workstreams.
  • Monitor performance, risks, dependencies, and issues.
  • Develop executive status reports and briefing materials.
  • Track contract deliverables and support QA reviews.
  • Coordinate communications between business and technical teams.
  • Support governance meetings and leadership briefings.

What You Will Do:
  • The Deputy Project Manager will support day-to-day management of the Business Process Improvement Program, coordinating Agile workstreams, deliverables, stakeholder engagement, resource planning, risk management, and performance tracking.

  • Familiarity with regulatory, financial services, or data modernization environments.
  • Experience preparing executive-level communications and reporting.

The annual salary range for this position is $149,000.00-$248,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
