Job summary

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Support leadership of Stantec’s team providing On-Call environmental clearance support for an electric utilities’ vegetation management program, poles and wires distribution program, hydrogeneration program, and transmission undergrounding program.
  • Responsible for budget forecasting, invoice review, and achieving financial goals.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to the client.
  • Proactively identifying client needs and programmatic initiatives required to address potential program delivery risks and challenges.
  • Lead and be actively engaged with client relationship building and maintenance.
  • Leading and overseeing the work of a multi-disciplinary team and sub‑consultant team.
  • Provide key technical guidance on projects and programs, providing strategic advice and direction throughout all projects.
  • Advising and assisting the client in development, management and execution of client program requirements.
  • Overseeing the work of a multi-disciplinary consultant and sub‑consultant team.
  • Leading team meetings and stakeholder meetings for project updates, team building, problem solving, business strategy, process improvement, and team training.
  • Contributing to refinement and implementation of a robust governance structure to ensure adherence to rigorous project and program management.
  • Overseeing preparation of various deliverables for the client.
  • Reviewing monthly invoices for accuracy and completeness.
Capabilities and Credentials
  • Experience with utility‑related environmental compliance for vegetation management and distribution pole replacement activities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects and activities simultaneously.
  • Strong technical understanding of and experience delivering consultant services through unit‑based contracts preferred.
  • Experienced program manager with experience in fast‑paced environments with highly accurate deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey program and project delivery needs to the client and to formulate those needs into plans of action.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a large team.
  • Collaborative team member who works independently and takes initiative.
  • Proficient with SharePoint and MS Teams environments, with broad technical aptitude and ability to quickly adapt to new platforms and tools.
  • Uses data effectively to support decision‑making in complex, information‑rich environments.
  • Data analysis experience (statistical analysis, pivot tables, Power BI).
  • Commitment to fostering a close, inclusive, and productive team culture.

  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues and solutions to others.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

PMP Certification preferred.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing large projects or programs.

Experience leading consulting teams of 15+ staff, experience leading larger teams preferred.

Experience achieving profit under unit‑priced contracts.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. On occasion, site visits/field work may be necessary and could include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Compensation
  • Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA, VA Areas $132,900.00 – $192,700.00 Annually
Benefits Summary
