Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking a Deputy Operations Manager to lead a geographically dispersed team responsible for managing a network and providing technical assistance to a customer at Sumter Shaw AFB, South Carolina.

You will assist the Operations Manager, lead contractor personnel, ensure safety and quality standards, and provide guidance on policies, procedures, and technical solutions for contract operations.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline or equivalent plus 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Security+ CE certification required.
  • DoD IAT Level II Certification required.
  • Valid state driver’s license required.

Job description

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is looking for a Deputy Operations Manager to be a part of a geographically dispersed team responsible for the management of a network and related computer systems and provides technical assistance and training to system users for our customer located in Sumter Shaw AFB, South Carolina.

Assist Operations Manager and provide effective and efficient site management services, leadership for contractor personnel, and be responsible for execution of all contracted activities. Attend various meetings and brief appropriate Government representative on status of support operations, as required. Advise in the development, interpretation, and implementation of policies and procedures for the organization, and ensure compliance with established safety, quality, and operational expectations. Provide systems expertise and guidance to develop, implement, and support technical solutions in support of contract operations.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee and perform functions with respect to cost, schedule, and technical performance of the Site’s operations.
  • Professionally interface with government officials, and work to resolve diverse operational issues and problems.
  • Implement company and government policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction and leadership to assigned personnel, including training, coordinating workloads; establish and adjust priorities and schedules, and monitor and evaluate staff performance to include administrative duties and/or actions, as needed.
  • Provide technical oversight to system upgrades and configuration changes.
  • Oversee and coordinate research and investigations as it relates to customer repair issues; provide guidance, technical support, and assistance relative to operational support and projects.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Associates degree in a technical discipline or equivalent academic, military or technical training and five (5) years of direct supervisory related experience.
  • Must possess and maintain Security+ CE certification.
  • Must possess a DoD IAT Level II (or higher) Certification
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver’s license.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Demonstratable understanding of configuration management and cyber security as it pertains to the management of C4ISR networks, systems, servers, storage, and applications across multiple classification domains.
  • Expertise in virtualization, with an emphasis on virtualization technologies as they are deployed with the DoD enterprise architecture; able to design, implement, and manage virtualized environments, and to provide guidance and support to other IT professionals in the use of virtualized technologies.   • Experience with VoIP, multicast video, active directory, and routing and switching within enterprise WAN environments.
  • Familiarity with USAF and DoD C&A policies and directives.
  • Proven track record of self-direction and meeting project goals.
  • Proficiency in using the MS Office suite to generate reports, track matrices, and create briefs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in RPA IT mission and operations analysis, with a focus on requirements definition, life-cycle management, and maintenance management support.
  • Able to integrate methods for continuous improvement and quality assurance through the lifecycle of sustainment strategies and solution development.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of success in a 24/7 team environment, interacting with all levels of program leadership, customers, and other agencies.
  • Must be self-directed and able to establish and meet project guidelines/timelines.
  • Possess a good understanding and use of Microsoft Office Professional suite of software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Possess communications skills capable of writing recommendations, reports, purchase justifications, memos, and miscellaneous documentation.
  • Trained in information assurance to meet Defense Cyber Workforce (DCWF) 8140.03 #451 Intermediate level or higher.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Must possess a Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
