• Excellent news judgment and platform-agnostic storytelling to identify top Chicago area stories.

Responsibilities

• Co-manage News Desk operations Sunday-Thursday, including a Monday night shift.
• Collaborate with Managing Editor and early shift Deputy Managing Editor on News Desk operations.
• Run afternoon news budget meetings in the Managing Editor’s absence.
• Coordinate with daily editors to ensure timely copy editing with accuracy.
