Job description

The Deputy Communications Director serves as a policy-making official reporting to the Director of Communications at the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. This role leads internal and external communications efforts, manages communications strategies related to federal healthcare initiatives, and oversees the communications team's operations. The position requires strong writing, organizational skills, and leadership abilities to manage statewide marketing efforts, public website and social media content, special events, and sensitive communications with the Governor's Office.
