Job summary

In the absence of the Chief Building Official, this role serves as the acting chief and contributes to permitting, inspection, and enforcement functions.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree and 8 years of experience.
• Licenses/certifications required: Building Code Administrator, Building Inspector, Building Plan Examiner.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspection and plan review staff to ensure compliance with codes, ordinances, and laws governing construction, use, and occupancy of buildings, structures, and land.
• Act as Chief Building Official in the absence of the Chief Building Official and provide direct support in permitting, inspection, and enforcement functions.
• Report to and receive direction from the Chief Building Official.
