Job summary

State of California's Natural Resources Law Section seeks a Deputy Attorney General Supervisor to lead a high-caliber team of attorneys and paralegals representing environmental agencies. The role balances administrative oversight with hands-on litigation leadership, shaping strategy on air pollution, water rights, CEQA, and regulatory enforcement.

You will supervise, mentor, and train staff, and handle the most difficult legal work, including trials, writs, and appeals.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL SUPERVISOR.
• Desirable Qualifications: experience supervising litigation teams, handling complex trials, writs and appeals, and mentoring deputies in hearings, trials, depositions, mediations and related civil litigation tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and train a team of attorneys and paralegals delivering strategic litigation leadership.
• Provide strategic guidance on high-stakes matters involving environmental regulation and CEQA compliance.
• Handle the most difficult and complex legal work related to administrative hearings, jury trials, bench trials, writs, and appeals.
