Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Deployment Systems & Process Engineer to define deployment processes, service workflows, and field maintenance for a fleet of robots. You will design tooling and fixtures to enable safe installation, servicing, and repair of mechatronic systems, while troubleshooting hardware and software failures in the field.

Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineers, you will translate field learnings into design improvements to shorten deployment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience in program or project management
• 5+ years of experience deploying or managing large fleets of complex electro-mechanical devices
• 3+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams, influencing product and functional requirements

Responsibilities

• Define and develop deployment processes, service procedures, and field maintenance workflows to support a fleet of deployed robots
• Design tooling, fixtures, and ground support equipment (or author requirements for outsourced development) that enable safe, repeatable installation, servicing, and repair of mechatronic systems
• Troubleshoot complex hardware, and software failures in the field during deployment campaigns and operational incidents; perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions
• Influence HW and SW engineering teams to incorporate serviceability, diagnosability, and deployment-readiness features (DFx) into product design through technical requirements and design reviews
• Execute and interpret CLI-based diagnostics, parse system logs, and leverage software tooling to verify robot health, isolate faults, and validate firmware/configuration updates
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineers to translate field learnings into design improvements that reduce deployment cycle time and increase fleet reliability
• Develop and maintain technical documentation—including service manuals, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides—to scale deployment knowledge across sites and teams
