Job summary

Base seeks a Deployment Engineer to support deployment operations as we launch new utility partnerships. You'll define the operational parameters for deploying batteries with regulated utilities, and stand up deployment operations by refining the pipeline that moves partner deals from signed to Permission to Operate (PTO).

Qualifications

• 3+ years in operations, program management, or partnerships roles.
• Experience in energy, utilities, construction, or field services operations a plus.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical/electromechanical systems.
• Proven ability to build relationships with external partners and clear bottlenecks.
• Experience developing field/workshop processes or manufacturing procedures.
• Familiarity with utility interconnection agreements or regulated energy markets is a plus.
• Comfort owning a CRM as the system of record and keeping data clean.
• Strong written and verbal communication; highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Degree in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, or industrial engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build internal systems and procedures to deploy thousands of batteries and scale partnerships.
• Serve as primary contact for utility partners on deployment operations and interconnection requirements.
• Develop data collection to drive continuous process improvements.
• Troubleshoot operational problems to minimize disruption and maintain schedules.
• Create pipeline automations and systems to scale new partnerships.
• Coordinate with Base pipeline, marketing, and business operations teams to strengthen partnerships.
• Own daily pipeline health: manage aging deals, route issues, and clean up CRM records.
• Coordinate handoffs between field teams and partners to keep install quotas on track.
• Run deployment feasibility studies for new utility regions.
• Collaborate with utility teams to define workable operational requirements.
