Terran Robotics – Automated Adobe Construction

We are seeking a Deployment Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team which spans mechanical, electrical, materials, robotics, AI, and software engineering. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments, understands infrastructure from the ground up, and builds deployment systems that empower the team to ship confidently and reliably. You’ll play a key role in designing and maintaining the pipelines, tooling, and infrastructure that support our autonomous construction robots in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build CI/CD deployment pipelines that “just work” in challenging and dynamic environments.
  • Navigate Kubernetes confidently while abstracting its complexity for other engineers.
  • Create internal tools that enable the team to deploy fearlessly and frequently.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and debugging systems for distributed infrastructure.
  • Apply strong fundamentals in networking, security, and system administration.
  • Evaluate and integrate open-source infrastructure solutions for on-premise deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment across hardware and software layers.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in production environments.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration tools.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and system administration fundamentals.
  • Ability to design internal tools that simplify deployment workflows.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and debugging distributed systems.
  • Comfort working in Linux-based environments and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying systems in robotics, edge computing, or real-time environments.
  • Familiarity with GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps best practices.
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud/on-premise architectures.
  • Background in systems engineering or platform infrastructure.

Location & Travel

  • Remote work opportunity; or, work in-office at the Terran Robotics Lab in Bloomington, Indiana.
  • If remote, expect to travel to and work up to five days per month at the Terran Robotics Lab in Bloomington, Indiana, 45 minutes from Indianapolis.

Compensation

  • Salary Range:$95,000 – $140,000/year commensurate with experience, qualifications and location
  • Equity:Participation in the Company’s Equity Incentive Plan
