Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Windows System Administrator for a classified program based at Edwards AFB, CA. The role requires a Secret clearance, SC/MMECM proficiency, and strong Windows Server experience.

The position involves on-site work with up to 50% travel (CONUS/OCONUS) and strict adherence to security guidelines. Candidates must be able to obtain/maintain required clearances and support multiple networks and teams.

Qualifications

  • Must have a US Government 8140 security certification
  • Current US Government Secret level security clearance (minimum) with ability to obtain Top Secret
  • Willing to relocate/move for 180 days away from primary work location (CONUS/OCONUS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, AD, and end-user support in an AD environment
  • Experience with MS SCCM/MECM and network security guidelines

Responsibilities

The Northrop Grumman CIDO Classified Solutions team is seeking a Network Communications to support information system lifecycle activities. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at the Edwards AFB, CA location.
Note: This position requires a minimum of 50% travel equating to approximately 180 days per year. Travel will be both CONUS and OCONUS.
Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options.
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support establishment of the Windows Server security infrastructure design, implementation, and migration planning and fielding.
  • Provide support for Microsoft Windows Server 2016/ 2019 platform and functions
  • Manage SCCM/ MECM platform to support customer requests for agent installation and tuning monitors and rules.
  • Participate in new installations, testing and special projects as needed.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, an energetic approach, and patience with customers.
  • Perform as a Windows System Administrator for a classified government contract.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, with internal or external customers, in written and oral format.
  • Able to support multiple networks. Ensure necessary administration tasks are completed; direct others as necessary.
  • Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists.
  • Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
  • Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
  • Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
  • Maintain security audit and logging information on all classified networked and standalone computers as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Prepare security documentation for input to Computer Security.
  • Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.
  • Works under minimal direction and independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
  • Perform Network Communications activities in support of classified government contracts.
  • Exhibits good communication skills, an energetic approach, and patience with customers.
  • Establishes and maintains high levels of customer satisfaction according to defined objectives while adhering to established policies.
  • Follow documented technical processes and procedures in support of job duties as assigned.
  • Provide first-level support resolution of technical problems and answers queries by telephone, in support of internal customers computer hardware, software, network, and telecommunications systems.
  • Support network operations of LAN/WAN/VPNs with knowledge of encryption.
  • Under direction ensure necessary administration tasks are completed, following all security policies and procedures reporting task statuses, as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts in written and oral format.
  • Assists with documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and change‑control records.
  • Work is performed with moderate supervision; independent execution of routine tasks expected.
  • Support environments by means of ticketing requirements systems (ServiceNow, JIRA, etc.).
  • Raises issues that require senior level attention or involvement.
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

Basic Qualifications For Level 2

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree Network Engineering
  • Active Top Secret, TS/SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph
  • Network+ certification and/or a Cisco CCNA (or a CCNA)
  • Network administration and analysis of routers, switches, firewalls, and/or VTCs
  • Experience in the use of network analysis tools (WireShark, SolarWinds, etc.)
  • Experience configuring TACLANES
  • Experience with Assessment & Authorization processes
  • Experience with MS SCCM/ MECM
  • Active Directory Experience or familiarity

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $155,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
