Job summary

Meijer in Florence, KY is seeking a Store Manager to lead daily store operations and mentor staff. You will drive customer service and sales while maintaining Meijer standards.

Requirements include 1 year of management experience, 2–3 years in retail, and a high school diploma. You will oversee staffing, training, safety, and performance metrics to achieve store goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members across organization including hourly staff and SDITs.
• Certification requirements completed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Serve as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs and providing efficient service.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning with clear career paths and development plans.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Mentor team to meet customer service and sales goals and Meijer standards.
• Ensure thorough training of all team members.
• Spend majority of time in-store engaging with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Plans, directs and supervises team members in the day to day operations within various departments of the store. Serves as the mentor and coach for all team members. Implements strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales while ensuring customer needs are met and service is quick and efficient. Maintains store appearance with a focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in the organization in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and by addressing root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.

• Successful completion of all required certifications.
