About the Clinical Psychology Program

The Clinical Psychology Program at the Washington DC location is a flagship program within The Chicago School. Established in 2010 and accredited by the American Psychological Association since 2015, it boasts a highly engaged student body and nationally recognized faculty. Position Overview

The faculty position offers a hybrid work schedule with three days on campus and two days remote. The role requires commitment to graduate instruction, training effective clinicians, supervising student research, academic advisement, and scholarly activities. Faculty report to the Academic Chair and are based at the Washington DC campus.

Principal Duties

• Teaching
  • Teach 18 credit hours over three semesters
  • Hold weekly office hours
  • Maintain current knowledge and update course content
  • Prepare syllabus and plans per department requirements
  • Select textbooks and teaching aids as needed
  • Deliver classroom instruction in lectures, demonstrations, discussions, or other modes
  • Develop and periodically update a system for evaluating teaching and student learning
• Advising
  • Maintain an advisee load per department needs
  • Provide mentorship on academic, curricular, and career development
  • Assist with vita and application materials and author recommendation letters
  • Help Department Chair document student progress, draft Academic Development Plans, and track compliance
  • Present advisee progress at faculty meetings and report back to faculty
• Scholarship
  • Supervise doctoral dissertation projects using quantitative, qualitative, or program evaluation methods
  • Engage in scholarly research, conference presentations, and community service scholarship
• Professional Service
  • Maintain scholarly activities advancing professional psychology practice
  • Promote student service in the community
  • Participate in community service
• Service to Institution
  • Participate in departmental functions, student progress analysis, faculty searches, admissions, curriculum development, mentoring new faculty, and other duties
  • Attend faculty meetings and the Faculty Assembly
  • Serve on committees as agreed with the Department Chair, including institutional committees

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in clinical psychology or a related discipline (e.g., counseling psychology, social psychology, experimental psychology). Candidates with counseling psychology degrees must have graduated from an APA‑accredited program and be currently licensed psychologists or license‑eligible with a plan to become licensed within one year.
• Special consideration for candidates with expertise or ability to teach in neuropsychology, psychotherapy, or scientific bases.
• Preferred teaching experience at the post‑secondary level.

Compensation & Benefits

This full‑time position offers a base salary of $75,000 – $85,000. Additional compensation may apply.
