As the need arises, Harbor Health seeks Dentists to join our Per Diem pool (on call as needed) at our Dental Center locations including Dorchester, Plymouth, Hyannis, and Dennis, MA. We have day, evening and some Saturday shifts available as needed at most Dental Centers.

Our Dental Center locations include:

  • Harbor Community Health Center-Plymouth, 10 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth
  • Ellen Jones Community Dental Center, 516 Route 134 Patriot Square, Dennis, MA

Role:

The Dentist works within a team to provide dental care for outpatients by focusing on preventive care, oral health, and overall health. The dentist is responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth and gums.

Responsibilities:

  • Determines and implements effective plan of treatment for patients including impressions for dentures, extracting diseased teeth, repairing cavities, root canals, etc.
  • Advises and educates patients about dental health practices.
  • Consults with the managers of other patient services to ensure coordination of services for dental treatment plans of patients.
  • Enters all pertinent and required information into patient medical records in accordance with procedure and practice in a timely and effective manner.
  • During emergency operations may be required to report to work or remain at work.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • D.M.D. or D.D.S. from an approved dental school or eligibility for limited licensure
  • 3 years of experience as a Dentist preferred
  • Current Massachusetts License (or eligible for limited license)
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) Certification
  • Current MCSR and DEA

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provides functional supervision of the dental assistants, hygienists, students, externs, and residents as assigned and/or as a designee in the absence of the site Lead Dentist as needed.
