About the Position:

This position is located at Kenner Army Medical Health Clinic in Fort Lee, VA in the Directorate of Dental. Serves as an oral surgeon providing advanced surgical care for complex oral and facial conditions, managing challenging patient cases, performing reconstructive and implant procedures, and guiding junior clinicians in specialized practices.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Dentist (Oral Surgery):
Education:

Applicants must possess Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the
American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained.

Licensure:

Applicants must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint
Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the
District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Residency:

Applicants must have successfully completed an advanced specialty postgraduate residency program approved by the American
Dental Association (ADA), or accepted equivalent program, in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements
listed below:

Completion of a 3-year residency program in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science; or at least three years
professional dentistry experience, or training, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12). Experience is defined as: performing oral
surgical care including skills such as, but not limited to, diagnosing and performing surgical treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving
both the functional and esthetic aspects of the head, mouth, teeth, gums, jaws and neck.
