Job description

Overview

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Dentist (Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon) – serves as a practicing dentist who performs a full range of professional dental procedures in connections with the treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative, or preventive measures.
  • Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures.
  • Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions.
  • Accomplish admissions, work-up, and performance of surgical procedures for patients with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions.
  • Accomplish dental-alveolar surgical procedures, reduction of facial fractures, placement of dental implants, and biopsy procedures.
  • Provide safe and effective anesthesia services in the outpatient setting, including intravenous sedation/general anesthesia.
  • Actively participate in the General Practice Residency and Maxillofacial Implant programs.
  • Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 07:30–16:00. Telework: Not available. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
