Job summary

CoreCivic in Hartsville, TN is seeking a Dentist to provide professional dental care for inmates in an institutional setting. The Dentist diagnoses dental diseases, performs exams, x-rays, fillings, extractions, and develops treatment plans while maintaining secure records.

You will oversee the facility dental program, collaborate with health staff, supervise staff when needed, manage budgets and billing, and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved dental school and licensed to practice in the state of employment.
• At least one year of experience preferred; strong oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license preferred where required by contract or applicable statute; knowledge of correctional custody rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine dental care, diagnose conditions, and initiate treatment plans.
• Develop and supervise the facility dental program and inmate education.
• Coordinate with external dental providers for specialized care.
• Maintain accurate dental records and ensure confidentiality.
• Attend on-call shifts and maintain safety and sanitation standards.
