Wellpath seeks a licensed dentist to provide dental services to inmate patients within a correctional facility. You will perform exams, cleanings, restorations, and extractions while adhering to security regulations and maintaining precise records.

CPR certification and state licensure are required. One year of general dentistry experience is preferred, and you will collaborate with health staff in a supportive team environment.

How you make a difference

The Dentist is responsible for providing dental services to inmate patients within the institution they are assigned to, while adhering to the security regulations of the facility. They are required to maintain accurate and timely documentation of their services and provide it to the director or designee to ensure compliance with client contract and proper compensation for services rendered.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides dental care and treatment to referred patients in accordance with facility regulations and standards.
• Performs routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
• Evaluates patients' dental care needs and makes clinically appropriate recommendations.

• Takes impressions for dental appliances and instructs patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
• Maintains accurate and confidential patient records and provides in-service training for health staff members.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.

Experience

• One year of experience in general dentistry preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Must have and maintain current licensure as a dentist within the state of employment.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR certification.
