Job summary

VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System is seeking a part-time Endodontist with proven experience and competence in all aspects of endodontic care. The position requires DMD or DDS credentials and ADA-accredited training, with board certification preferred or eligibility in line with ABEndo guidelines.

The role involves diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivery of comprehensive endodontic services. The Endodontist will work collaboratively with dentists and physicians, mentor residents, and operate

Qualifications

• Endodontist must hold a DMD or DDS and ADA-accredited Endodontics training.
• Board certification in Endodontics or eligibility preferred.
• Experienced in all phases of Endodontics including anterior, posterior and apical surgery.
• Trained and competent in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Provide endodontic care across all phases including diagnosis, treatment planning and post-treatment care.
• Collaborate with dentists and physicians and supervise residents as needed.
• Adhere to established dental service policies and use the computerized record system.
• Work schedule as Part Time with variable tour of duty.

Duties

• Major Duties and Responsibilities: The Endodontist will have earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and will have completed an ADA accredited training program in Endodontics
• Board certification in Endodontics or board eligibility in accordance with the rules of The American Board of Endodontics is preferred
• The individual will be experienced and competent in all phases of Endodontics including anterior - and posterior as well as apical surgery
• The individual must be proficient in assessment - diagnosis - treatment and post-treatment care in all the above areas
• They must be trained and competent in providing Basic life Support (BLS)
• They must be able to manage medically complex patients and provide appropriate prosthodontic treatment
• The individual must be proficient in assessment - diagnosis - treatment and post treatment care in all the above areas
• The individual must be able to work collegially with other dentists and physicians - and should possess the skills - both interpersonal and professional - to work with residents in all areas and specialties of dentistry Assignment includes advanced understanding and use of the computerized record system
• Work is assigned by the Chief or Assistant Chief of dental as well as other providers as indicated dentist
• The Endodontist plans and completes tasks based on established protocols/accepted dental practices
• The Endodontist's work is reviewed on an overall basis by the Chief - Dental Service for conformity to Dental Service policy and requirements
