Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a Dentist (DMD/DDS) at the Marshall County Correctional Facility in Holly Springs, MS. The role focuses on dental services, admissions exams, and patient care within a correctional setting.

The position requires current MS licensure and a valid DEA number, English fluency, leadership ability, teamwork, and independent decision-making for on-site procedures and referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current MS license to practice dentistry.
• Must maintain a valid DEA number.
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension).
• Leadership and the ability to supervise other personnel.
• Ability to make independent clinical decisions when warranted.
• Professional conduct and the ability to interact with inmates, staff, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret radiographic exams as indicated.
• Provide dental treatment including emergency treatment, extractions, restorative dentistry, and periodontal therapy within the scope of a general Dentist.
• Make proper referrals for procedures not available on-site.
• Report unusual occurrences or accidents to the Medical Director and attend required meetings.

Salary Range: $70.00 To $100.00 Hourly

VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in Correctional Health Care has an opening for a Dentist at Marshall County Correctional Facility in Holly Springs, MS.

Position Summary

The Dentist provides dental services and directs patient and clinical examination of admissions and, as indicated, treatment of patients’ needs.

Essential Functions

• Perform and interpret radiographic exams as indicated.
• Provide dental treatment including emergency treatment of teeth and surrounding soft tissues such as oral surgery, restorative dentistry and periodontal therapy within the scope of a general Dentist including extractions.
• Correct significant oral problems that may adversely affect inmate health as deemed necessary.
• Make proper referrals for procedures that cannot be performed at the facility.
• Report any unusual occurrences or accidents to the site or Regional Medical Director and attend training and meetings as required.

Minimum Requirements

• Maintains current DEA number.
• Currently licensed in the state.
• Must be fluent in English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
• Must be a supportive team member, who contributes to and demonstrates teamwork and team concept.
• Able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Able to deal tactfully with personnel, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Possess leadership and supervisory ability and be able to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
