Lake Nona (Orlando VA Medical Center) is seeking a skilled Dentist to join our team. The role focuses on comprehensive dental care within a VA setting, delivering high-quality patient-centered services in a modern facility.

Ideal candidates hold a DDS or DMD from an ADA-accredited school, board certified or eligible, and a current state license. You will collaborate with specialists, supervise staff, and educate patients on oral health.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from an ADA-accredited dental school is required.
• Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in General Dentistry.
• Current state license.

Responsibilities

• Meet VA Dentist qualification standards and provide comprehensive dental care.
• Provide thorough examinations to determine overall dental health and evaluate patients for gum disease, cavities, and infection.
• Diagnose and treat dental problems including root canals, extractions, and restorations.
• Perform dental care treatments including x-rays, fillings, sealants, and cosmetic services.
• Consult with other dental specialists when necessary.
• Supervise staff.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and use of dental appliances.
• Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Meet VA Dentist qualification standards and provide comprehensive dental care, including:
  • Consultations
  • Comprehensive examinations
  • Diagnosis
  • Preventive and therapeutic treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions affecting the oral cavity, maxillofacial region, and associated structures.
• Provide thorough examinations to determine overall dental health and evaluate patients for signs of gum disease, cavities, and infection
• Diagnose and treat dental problems including root canals, extractions, and restoration
• Perform dental care treatments including x-rays, fillings, sealants, and cosmetic dental services
• Consult with other dental specialists when necessary
• Supervise staff
• Provide education to patients on oral hygiene and use of orthodontics and dental appliances
• Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines

Qualifications

• DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from an ADA-accredited dental school is required
• Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in General Dentistry
• Current state license
• Previous experience in clinical or private practice
• CPR, BLS, and NPI certifications
• Deep understanding of dental standards and dental medicine trends
• Excellent bedside manner
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
