Job summary

Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska, is seeking a dentist to provide clinical dental services within the Dental Department’s priorities and to assist in prevention and health education for surrounding villages.

The role requires an Alaska dental license and ADA-accredited DDS/DMD, with the ability to supervise dental assistants, externs, and DHATs, plus interest in dental public health; telemedicine experience is a plus. This is a full-time position in rural southwest Alaska.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from an ADA-accredited dental school.
• Current Alaska dental license and credentials for appointment to the Medical and Dental Staff of the YKDR Hospital.
• Ability to supervise dental assistants’ chair side work and externs; interest in dental public health; telemedicine experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical dental services within the priorities of the YKHC Dental Department and assist in dental prevention and dental health education efforts in the surrounding villages.
• Supervise Dental Health Aide Therapists (DHATs) and Dental externs; support telemedicine and outreach initiatives.
• Collaborate with rural communities to promote oral health and access to care.

Position Summary

Provide clinical dental services within the priorities of the YKHC Dental Department and assist in dental prevention and dental health education efforts in the surrounding villages.

Position Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from a dental school accredited by the commission of Dental Accreditation of the ADA.
• Interest in dental public health preferred.
• Current license to practice dentistry in the State of Alaska. Credentials necessary for appointment to the Medical and Dental Staff of the YKDR Hospital.
• Ability to supervise dental assistants’ chair side work and Dental Externs.
• Desire to work with and supervise Dental Health Aide Therapists (DHAT’s) and Dental Externs.
• Experience with dental telemedicine is a plus.
