Job summary

Ampla Health is seeking a Dental Sterilization Technician to maintain sterile processing, assist in preparing dental rooms, and support clinicians throughout the day. The role emphasizes decontamination, instrument sterilization, inventory control, and adherence to safety protocols.

The DST will ensure timely sterilization, monitor biological and chemical solutions, and collaborate with the dental team to meet patient needs in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Dental Practice Act/Law and Ethics course.
• 8-hour OSHA/Infection Control certification required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Must know computer system for dental treatment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Keeps instruments sterilized, decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, assembles and wraps trays.
• Sets up and breaks down treatment rooms.
• Assists patients visiting clinic and greets them.
• Maintains clean work areas and logs of spore testing.
• Monitors sanitation solutions and ensures equipment functions properly.
• Keeps inventory and supplies organized and available.
• Follows OSHA and Exposure Control Plans and CQI activities.
• Works with team to meet clinic goals and supports providers with instruments and handpieces.
