Job summary

Ballantyne Endodontics in Charlotte, NC is seeking a part-time Sterilization Technician to join our busy specialty practice. You will maintain infection control, sterilize instruments, and prepare trays for procedures, with potential to grow into a Dental Assistant role.

The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, familiarity with dental instruments and adherence to OSHA/CDC guidelines, and a teamwork-focused mindset. Weekend or varied scheduling flexibility may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior dental sterilization experience preferred.
• Familiarity with instruments, equipment, and infection control protocols.
• Knowledge of OSHA and CDC guidelines for infection control.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow established protocols precisely.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of dental instruments and surfaces.
• Operate autoclaves and sterilization equipment; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare instrument trays and setups for procedures.
• Maintain inventory of sterilization supplies and restock as needed.
• Record sterilization cycles and maintain logs.
• Collaborate with dental staff to ensure smooth instrument flow during appointments.
• Assist with other office tasks as needed.
