Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) Certificate OR Completion of a Dental Assistant education program and have received certificate/diploma.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and obtain authorization for specialty care from the dental plan.
• Coordinate specialty care referral with the patient and their family.
• Ensure proper consultative documentation is received back for review.
